Richard Lewis This examinant Saith upon his oath that William Broadwell in December
last past bought A Long boat of Cornelius Johnson of Pocomoke in y^e County of Sommersett
planto^r And the Said Cornelius was to rigg & Sett the Same Long boat & make her
fitt to Sayle by the 12^th of Jan^ry then next following Richard Lewis ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The former proseedings in this Co^rt being read in this Cause depending betweene William
Broadwell plte ag^t Cornelius Johnson of Pocomoke def^t: This Co^rt: orders that the def^t: Cornelius
Johnson pay unto the plte W^m Broadwell or his order Six hundred pounds of tobacco with
Cost of Suit alias Execucon ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Edward Smith defend^t Thomas Poole pro def^t
Sommersett Ss Allexander Younger of this Couny gent^l declares ag^t Edward Smith gent^l one of
his Lopp^s Justices for this County in an accon of detinne &c
And where upon the said Allex^a by his attourney Edward Jones Saith That the Said Edward Smith
hath detained from the Said Younger one Trunck with Severall goods in it & bills vizt one
Chamlet Cloake one peece of worsted pernella one pis of perpetuana one pis of fine Linnen w^th
divers other goods w^ch Trunk & goods as aboves^d the aforesaid Younger brought into y^e house
of the aforesaid Smith about the 14^th day of March last past with y^e Consent of the afores^d
Smith but the aforesaid Smith fraudulently detaining the afresaid Trunk & goods from y aforesaid Younger Whereupon the aforesaid Younger Saith he is damnified & hath damadge
to y^e vallue of 2990^lb of tobacco whereupon brings his Sute : pro quer Edw^d Jones
Henry Bishop appeares in this Cause depending & maketh oath but not taken in writing
This Co^rt orders That the defend^t Edward Smith deliver y^e plte Allexander Younger The
trunke & goods in his Custody~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Same day Comm^rs as afore

Sommersett Ss Allexander Younger of this County gent^l declares ag^t Edward Smith gent^l one of his
Lopp^s Justices for this County in an accon of the Case
And where upon the said Allexander by his Attourney Edward Jones Saith y^t the said Edward
became indebted unto the aforesaid Allex^a in the summe of Two thousand foure hundred
& foureteene pounds of tobacco as doth appeare Pr accompt w^ch accompt wee have to produce
in Co^rt but the aforesaid Edward his promise & assumption Little regarding but
fraudulently intending him to deceive in the summe of 2414^lb of Tobacco And the
aforesaid Edward refuseth to pay & Still doth refuse to pay the aforesaid summe of
2414^lb of Tobacco whereupon the aforesaid Allexander Saith he is Damnified and
hath Damadge to the vallue of Two Thousand nine hundred ninety nine pounds
of Tobacco Whereupon he bringeth his Suit~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
