And this Day to witt y 10th: Day of Janry Ao:Dom: 1676: Came John Richards in his owne proper person as well
as y above named wittnesses Jno: Gladstone & Philip Carter & before y Cort: y said Jno: Richards Did Confesse
Judgement for y abovesaid Summ of one thousand two hundred pounds of Tobacco being Due to y said Anne
And thereupon this Cort : orders yt the said John Richards Joyner pay unto James Weatherley or his order
the now husband of y said Anne one Thousand Two hundred pounds of Tobacco in Casqe with Cost of Suit

Sommrsett: Ss: John Richards of this County was Summoned to answr unto John Gladstone in a plea of Debt &c ~ ~
And whereupon y Said John by his attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt he y said Richard became indebted to him y Said
John in y Summ of Two hundred Seaventy Six pounds of Tobacco in Casqe as by a certaine writeing under y hand & Seale of him y aforesaid Richards here in Cort: produced will more plainely appeare bearing Date y 3d Day of March
in y yeare Dom; 1676: wherein y Said Richards Did assume upon himself & promise to pay unto him y Sd: John
y aforementioned Summ 276lb Tobacco next ensueing y Date of y Said writeing & for y performance bindeth his
heirs executors: or admrs, but hee y Said Richards little regarding his promise & assumpcon fraudulently in=
tending him y said John of y Summ of 276lb of Tobacco Denieth & still Doth Deny to pay y Same although often
thereunto required The plt Saith hee is Damnified & hath Damadge to y value of five hundred Seaventy two
pounds of Tobacco & there upon brings his Suit: pquer: Tho: Poole:
This Bill bindeth mee John Richards in y County of Somrsett & province of Maryland Joyner mee my heirs executors
administrators and assignes to pay or cause to bee paid unto Jno: Gladston of y said County & province aforesaid
him his heirs executors: admrs: or assignes y just & full Summ of Two hundred & Seaventy Six pounds of good
Sound merchanteable Tobacco in Casque & that to bee paid in any Convenient place in y aforesaid County att
or before y first Day of October next ensueing y Day & Date hereof as wittness my hand & Seale this 3d Day of

in an accon of Debt: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
And whereupon y Said Robert by his attorney Thomas: Poole Saith yt hee y Said Samuell became indebted unto
him y Said Robert in y Summ of Two thousand pounds of good Sound merchantable Tobacco & Casqe free
of grounds Leaves & Seconds as will by a certaine writeing under y hand Seale of him y Said Tuckfeild here
in Cort: produced wherein hee y Said Tuckfeild did promise & assume upon himselfe to pay or cause to bee paid
unto y aforesaid ffilkin the Summ 2000lb tob: & Did bind himselfe his heirs executors: or admrs: to pay or
Cause to bee paid unto him y said ffilkin his heirs executors, or admrs: y Summ of 2000lb tobacco & Casqe
next ensueing y Date of y aforesaid writeing but hee y Sd: Tuckfeild little regarding his promise & assumpcon
