This is to Certifie yt wee arived in Virga ye 12th october 1671 & yt John Pearse was sold to mr
Upshott of Accomack for the term of four year wittness my hand Jno Bromsoine bosson of the Prosperous
I Isaac Jacob doth assign over unto James Weatherle or his assignes one man servt named John
Pers for the full term of three years wanting only one month or two with warrenty from all
persons or persons whatsoever as wittness my hand this 20th February Ao 1673: Isaac Jacob
on the back side of the Said writing written vizt I James Weatherle Doe assigne over all my
right & Title of this assignemt unto Cornelius Johnson or his assignes 16th march 1673: James Weatherle
This Cort Takeing the premisses into their Serious Consideracon Doe order yt the plt John Pers
Doe serve his master Cornelius Johnson or his assignes: According to ye assignmt here produced in
Cort And if in case the said John Perse makes appeare otherwise then the Said Cornelius Johnson

Edward Williams deft Sommersett Ss Edward Williams was summoned to answer unto William Areskine
Marchant in a plea of Trespas upon the Case;/;
Whereupon the said Wm Areskin by his Attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt the Said Edward Williams the 8th
day of Aprill in ye year of our Lord 1675 became indebted unto him the said Wm Areskin the full
quantity of one Thousand & fifteene pounds of tobacco as pr his accot here in Cort produced more
plainely doth & may appeare but ye said Edward fraudulently intending to deceive him the Said
William of the aforesd 1015 l: of tobacco denyeth & still doth deny to pay the Same though often thereunto
required whereby the plaintiff Saith he is Damnified & hath Loss to ye vallue of 2030 lb of tobacco And
thereupon he brings his Suit. Pr que Tho Poole
