And thereupon y S^d Edmund Scarburgh by Tho^s: Jones his attorney Saith that whereas y aforesaid Thomas y 4^th Day of May
One Thousand Six hundred Seaventy Six in accomack County aforesaid by his Certaine bill which y Said Edmund signed
with y hand of y said Thomas here brings into Co^rt: Did binde himselfe to pay or cause to bee paid to him y Said ~
good sound leafe
Edmund his heirs or assignes y full & just Summe of Sixteene hundred & ninety pounds of ^ Tobacco & Casqe to bee
paid Conveniently on y Bay Side in y County of accomack att or upon y 20^th Day of November then next ensueing y Date
of y Said bill notwithstanding y aforesaid Thomas although often Demanded y aforeS^d Sixteene hundred & ninety
pounds of tobacco to y S^d Edmund Scarburgh hee hath not paid but y Same hitherto hath Denyed to pay & as yett--
Denyeth whereupon hee Saith hee is Damnified & hath Damage to y value of Two Thousand pounds of Tobacco
