Sommersett Ss John Anderson of this County Sawyer was summoned to Answer
29 unto fflorence Parker the relict and executrix of George Parker
Deceased in A plea of Debt &c ; / ; ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
And whereupon the sd: fflorence by Thomas Poole her Attourney saith
That he the said John became indebted unto her Late husband George Parker
deceased in the Just summe of Two Thousand pounds of good sound mar
chantable tobacco and Caske as by A Certaine writing will appeare (here in
Cort: produced) signed with the hand of him the said John Anderson bearing
Date the 28th: day of october Annoq Domini one Thousand six hundred
sixty eight Did Assume upon himselfe and promise to pay unto the
said George Parker his heires executors: or assignes the said quantity
of Tobacco aforesaid, vizt; one Thousand pounds of tobacco the same yeare
And the other one Thousand pounds of tobacco the yeare after the Date of
the said writing in Pocomoke river and for the performance whereof
bindes himselfe his heires and executors: But he the said John Little
regarding his Promise and Assumpcon but fraudulently intending
to Deceive her the said fflorence of the said Two Thousand pounds
of Tobacco and Caske Denyeth and Still Doth to pay the same Allthough
often Demanded The plt: saith She is Damnified and hath Dammadge
To the vallue of Three Thousand pounds of Tobacco And thereupon
