Edward Edward Jones in A plea of Debt &c ; / ;
And whereupon the said Edward by Henry Smith his Attorney
saith That he the sd: Thomas Did upon the 24th: day of Aprill
last past by A Certaine specialty signed with the hand and
Sealed with y Seale of him the said Thomas (wch: is
produced here in Cort: Acknowledge to owe and Stand indebted
unto him the said Edward the Just summe of seaven
hundred and Thirty pounds of good sound Tobacco in
Caske To be paid unto him the said Edward his heires
executors: admrs: or assignes at or before the 10th: day of
october next ensueing the Date of the sd: specialty in
some Convenient place in Manoakin river for y performance
of which he the said Thomas bindes himselfe his heires
executors: and admrs: But he the said Thomas Little regarding
his Ingagement fraudulently intending to Deceive him
the said Edward of the Aforesaid 730lb: tob: in Caske Denyeth
and still doth to pay the same Allthough oftentimes hath
bin Demanded The plt: saith he is Damnified & hath Dammadge
to the vallue of one Thousand foure hundred pounds of
Tobacco & thereupon brings his Suite &c ; / ; ~ ~ ~ ~
Maryland Ss Know All men by these Presents that I Thomas
Wingod of the County of Sommersett in the Province
Aforesaid Doe Acknowledge to owe and stand Indebted
unto Edward Jones of the County & Province aforesd:
in the full and Just summe of seaven hundred
and thirty pounds of good sound tobacco in Caske
to be paid in some Convenient place in
Manoakin river at or before the 10th: day of october
next
