This Day Severall Runawayes were brought before the Cort:

Robert Williams and Elizabeth his wife whome Acknowledged
themselves to be the servants of John Athee Living in
Calvert County ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
William Burch who Did Acknowledge himselfe to be the
servant of mr: William Lee ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
ffrancis Elliott who Did Acknowledge himselfe to be the
servant of Nicholas Spencer ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Complainte being made that they had beaten & Abused severall
men belonging to mr: Lewin Denwoods Shallop especially
William Birch and ffrancis Elliott was found upon examinacon
to be the Cheifest offenders ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Cort: therefore ordrs: that they be Committed in to the
Sherriffes Custody And that they said Wm: Birch & ffrancis
Elliott have well Layd on upon the bare back each of them
twenty eight Lashes; And further ordered that they remayne
in the Sherriffes Custody untill they be Sent for by theire
masters or otherwayes Conveyed to them.
