with twenty six hhds: of tobacco I recd: of which was one hhd
rotten which I Sold for fifty shillings and severall hhds: of
aprs: was some in hay Case and some had recd: a Little wett
so I Caused it to be striped out of the Caske and where I sawe
any in hey Case or touched with wett I tooke it out and putt
good tobacco in the roome of it and soo made up twenty foure hhds
of marchantable tobacco wch: I soulld for 3D: p lb as pr the accot
here was above twenty Sale of virginia men Come home before
or: vessell Arived and tobacco was Sold for 2½ pr lb but it is
now pretty well Dispersed and the prise is gott up to 3D: againe
most of the tob: wee had in the vessell was very meane tob: I am
sure there was not one third of her Ladeing marchantable tob:
but wee made Shift to putt it all offe save some wett tob:
which wee tooke out and will make what I Can of that to
Sr: I have Sent you the returnes in the most suitable things as
I thought might turne to Accot: with malt and Iron according
to order; Sampson toulld me of some fine holland for mrs: Revell
but I coulld find none sutable for her turne exept in the
pedling shops where a man must give halfe a much more
for it as it is worth therefore did forbeare buying at pr:sent
till A fitter opportunity present wch: I hope may be by my
Selfe
