vers in A plea of Trespass
George Howell deft: upon the Case
The plt: and deft: being Called appeare before the board
The plt: desires their decla: might be read vizt ; / ;

George Howell late of Somersett County was attached to
answer Edwd: Hassard in A plea of trespas upon the Case &c.
And whereupon the said Edward Hassard for himselfe saith
That he the said George Howell in the month of october in y
XXXXth: year of the Dominion of the Rt: honble: Caecilius &c.
Annoq Domini one thousand six hundred seaventy and one
Did make over and assigne unto Edward Hassard A bill pble
by John Cross of Dorsett County to the said George Howell
for the Just summe or quantity of ffoure hundred pounds of
tobacco and Caske being for A Consideracon the plt: pd: the said
Howell here in this County; The plaintiffe having given order
for the receiving the said tobacco the said John Cross denied
payment; saying that the most part of the said tobacco was
attached in his hands for A Debt Due from the Deft: the said
George Howell, the plt: having thereupon Demanded his tobacco
of George Howell to be paid here, he the said George Howell
Denyeth payment and Still doth whereupon the plt: saith he
is Dampnified and hath Damage to the vallue of eight hundred
pounds of tobacco And thereupon brings his sute &c.
The plt: desireth that the bill and assignemt: may be read vizt
This Bill bindeth me James Crosse of Dorsett County in the
Province
