Know All men by these presents that I George Betts of
Sommersett County in the Province of Maryland plantor:
Doe Stand & am firmly bound in and oblidged to James
Nichollson of the County and Province aforesaid plantor
in the summe of forty thousand pounds of good Sound
Marchantable tobacco in Caske to be paid to the same James
Nichollson or to his heires executors administrators or assignes
To the which payment well truly & faithfully to be made
I doe binde my Selfe my heiress; executors: and administrators:
firmly by these presents; Signed with my hand & Sealed wth:
my Seale Dated the third day of March in the XXXiXth: year
of the Dominion of the Rt: hon:ble Caecilius &c And in the
year of our Lord God one thousand Six hund. & Seaventy.
The Condicon of this obligacon is such that if the above bounded George
Betts Doe Save harmlesse & Defends the above named James Nichollson
his heires executors: and administrators from all & all manner of Damagges
for or by reason of the above named James Nichollson being Jointly bound
in two Severall bonds with the Said George Betts to his Lopps: Justices for
