this point, and that furthermore he would attempt to get approval
for us of the leg of the Southwest Expressway that's holding things
up. That's about a one-mile section somewhere between Monroe Street
and the intersection with the East-West Expressway.
I obtained assurances from the Mayor and the City Council, the
City councilmen present I should say, that there was no controversy
about this particular one-mile section and that the minute we were
able to assure the City Council that the Federal government had ap-
proved the alignment, we would be able to go ahead with the con-
demnation ordinances.
This makes me believe that, if things go as we expect them to, we'll
be able to have this matter fully defined and on the road before the

at it over the weekend, and I'm hopeful that by early next week I'll
be able to comment on it. I certainly do want, in any event, regard-
less of what's in it, to discuss it with the Commissioner personally be-
fore I make a public comment.

he calls publicity purposes. Would you approve such a sum and
where would it come from?
A. I haven't had a chance to sit down with Mr. Eney to talk about

crash jobs program and now there remains in it approximately $210
thousand. We like to keep some kind of cushion for any genuine, un-
