true it is that the Said Francis Holland as sherriff of the said Baltemore
County was on the said last mentioned twenty fourth Day of December In-
trusted by the said Thomas Bordley to Collect and Account for the Sum of
three thousand two Hundred pounds of Tobacco Due to the said Thomas
Bordley by Virtue of his office of Attorney Gen^ll as afores^d from Severall then
living in Baltemore County aforesaid And also true it is that the Said Francis
Holland as Sherriff afores^t on the Tenth Day of Aprill One Thousand Seven
Hundred and twenty two in Baltemore County afs^d Did receive from the afs^d
John Beale the Sum of One thousand and thirty five pounds of Tobacco for
the Use of the said Thomas Bordley And that the said Sever^l Quantities of
Tobacco Amount To twenty four thousand two hund^d and thirty One Pounds
of Tobacco But the said John further Saith that as to Seven Thousand five
Hund^a forty Eight pounds of Tob^a Part of the said twenty four thousand two
Hundred and thirty One Pounds of Tobacco the Said Francis Holland Did
before the impetration and Exhibition of the Writt afs^d by the Said Attorney
Gen^ll for the Lord Propry against the said John Stokes Viz^t: on the Ninth
Day of June in the Year One thousand Seven hundred and twenty Six in
Baltemore County Afs^d Pay and Satisfie Unto the Said Thomas Bordley in
his Life time the said Seven thousand five Hundred and forty Eight Pounds
of Tobacco [834] And as to Sixteen thousand Six Hundred and Eighty three
Pounds of Tobacco the remaining part of the said twenty four thousand two
Hundred and thirty One pounds of Xob" lic the said Fiancis Holland before
the impetration or Exhibition of the said Writt as Afs^d against the said John
Stokes Viz^t: on the first Day of July in the Year of Our Lord One thousand
Seven hund^d and twenty Six in Baltemore County Did offer to pay to the said
Thomas Bordley in his Lifetime the said Sixteen thousand Six Hund^d and
Eighty three pounds of Tobacco According to the form and Effect of the
Condition afores^d Without that that [sic] twenty four thousand two hundred
and thirty One Pounds of Tob^a Yet remain unpaid and Unsatisfie [sic] to the
said Thomas Bordley or to the afs^d Ariana Executrix as afs^d And this he is
ready to Verifie And the said John further saith that true it is the said Francis
Holland Sherr: as Afores^d was indebted to the Said Tho^s Bordley as aforesaid
on the tenth Day of August One thousand Seven hund^d twenty and two in
Baltemore County afores^d in the Quantity of Sixteen thousand Six Hund^d
and Eighty three Pounds of Tob^a as Afs^d Upon a Certain Reckoning Between
the said Thomas in his Lifetime and the afs^d Francis as in the said Replica-
tion is Alledged But the said John Saith that as to the five thousand two hun-
dred and Seventy Nine Pounds of Tob^a part of the said Sixteen thousand
Six Hundred and Eighty three pounds of Tobacco he the said Francis
Afterw^ds and before the impetration of the writt afores^d by the said Attorney
Gen^ll for the said Lord Propry ag^t the said John Stokes Viz^t: the ninth Day
of June in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hund^d and Twenty
Six in Baltemore County afs^d Did Pay and Satisfie unto the said Thomas
