bly in the premises: Hereof fayle you not at your perill and have you there
this Writt Witness our Selves at our City of S^t Maries the Thirtyeth day of

to Certifie that amongst the Records of the Provincia[l] Court is thus Con-
tained Viz^t

[4] Att their Majesties provinciall Court held for the Province of Maryland
att the City of Saint Maries the first Tuesday of May being the Second day
of the Same Month and there continued untill the 16^th day of the Said Month
of May in the Fifth Year of their Say'd Ma^ties reign etc. Annoque Domi 1693:

Thomas Tench Esq^r against Joseph Chew Garnishee
of Alexander Chappell.

Memorandum that on the Eleaventh day of Octob^r in the Fourth Year
of the Reign of our Soveraign Lord and Lady King William and Queen Mary
etc. Annoque Domi 1692: Command was giuen the Sheireffe of Ann Arrun-
dell County that he Should attach any the Goods Chattels or Creditts of Alex-
ander Chappell if they Should be found in his Balewick to the Value of Nine
thousand Four Hundred and Ninety pounds of Tobacco and when he Should
have the Same So attached or any Part thereof the Same in his Custody
Should keep Soe that he Should have the Same before the Justices of our
Provinciall Court to be held at our City of S^t Maries the first tuesday of May
instant to satisfie Unto Thomas Tench Esq^r as well the Summ of Five thou-
sand pounds of tobacco a Certaine Debt for Damages recovered in our Said
Court the Sixth day of Octob^r last past by the Said Thomas against the Said
Alexander whereof he is Convict as also the Summ of Two Thousand One
Hundred and Eighteene pounds of tobacco cost of Suite And that by good
and lawfull men of his Bayliwicke he Should make known to the Party or
Party's in whose hands he make the Said attachment that he or they then and
there appear to Shew cause if any why the Same ought not to be condemned
in his or their hands for Satisfaction of the Debt and cost afore Said. Accord-
ing to an Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided whereof he was
not to fayle, and then and there make knowne to our Said Justices how he
Should Execute this Writt. On which Said First Tuesday of May Instant
Came the Said Shriffe of Ann Arrundell County and made Returne of his
