FREDERICK Lord BALTIMORE.
At a Session of ASSEMBLY begun and held at the 
    City of Annapolis, the 12th, and ended the 24th
    Day of December, in the Fourth Year of the Dominion
    of the Right Honourable FREDERICK, absolute
    Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland
    and Avalon,
lord Baron of Baltimore, &c.
    Annoq; Domini 1754:  The following Law was
    Enacted.
HORATIO SHARPE, Esq; Governor.

 
CHAP. XXI.
Passed 24th
Dec. 1754.
An Act for taking and detaining able bodied Men for his Majesty's Service.  Lib.
   
H.S.  fol. 165.
    So much of this Act as relates to the raising and levying Men, to be in Force for One Year,
and no longer.
    In §. III, of this Act, which is still in Force, it is Enacted, That " if any Person or Persons
" enlisted by Virtue of this Act, or otherwise, within this Province, shall be so maimed or
" wounded in his Majesty's Service, as to be rendered incapable of maintaining themselves; he
" or they shall, upon his or their Return, be supported at the Public Expence:  Provided such
" Persons, at the Time of their Enlisting, were Residents within this Province."

 
1755. At a Session of ASSEMBLY begun and held at 
    the City of Annapolis, the 22d Day of February,
    and ended the 26th Day of March, in the 4th
    Year of the Dominion of the Right Honourable 
    FREDERICK, absolute Lord and Proprietary of the

    Provinces of Maryland and Avalon, Lord Baron of
    Baltimore, &c. Annoq; Domini 1755:  The following
    Laws were Enacted.

CHAP. I
Passed 26th
March 1755.
An Act directing the Commissioners of the Currency Office, speedily to call in the
    Interest due on Bonds and other Securities, and all Monies due on Funds payable
    into the said Office.  Lib. H.S.  fol. 168.  OBS.
    N.B. 
By this Act, the Commissioners were directed to give public Notice in the MARYLAND
GAZETTE
, " That the several Debtors to the Office, whether for Money collected
" upon Funds, or for Interest upon Bonds, &c. should pay the Sums so due into the said Office,
" by the 1st of June next ensuing;" and if not then paid in, immediately to proceed to the
Recovery of Principal and Interest due on such Bonds, according to the Act of 1747, ch. 23,
and of other Securities, and Money collected upon Funds as aforesaid, according to Law.  A
Modus of Proceeding was likewise prescribed for the Sale of Goods, Chattels, Lands or Tenements,
taken in Execution at the Instance of the Commissioners, by Fieri facias or Attachment,
viz.  The Sheriff or Coroner (after Ten Days Notice thereof, by Advertisement set up in the
most Public Places in the County, for the Sale of Goods and Chattels; and Thirty Days Notice
as aforesaid, and Publication thereof in the MARYLAND GAZETTE, for the Sale of Lands
and Tenements) should proceed to set the same to Sale in the most public Manner to the highest
Bidder, for Bills of Credit; and, after discharging the Office Claims and Costs of Suit out of the
Money arising by the Sale, to return the Overplus to the Defendant or Debtor.
