At a Session of ASSEMBLY, begun and held at the
City of Annapolis, the 17th Day of June, and
ended the 8th Day of July, in the 32d Year of
the
Dominion of the Right Honourable CHARLES, absolute
Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of
Maryland and Avalon, Lord Baron of Baltimore
&c. Annoq; Domini 1746: The following
laws
were made, &c. |

CHAP. I.
|
|
An act for issuing and taking out of the Office of the Commissioners
or Trustees appointed
for emitting Bills of Credit, established by Act of
Assembly, the Sum of
Four Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Current Money, for
Encouragement of
such able-bodied Free-men as shall voluntarily Enlist
themselves into his Majesty's
Service, for the intended Expedition against
Canada, and for maintaining and
conveying them to the Place of Rendezvous; as also for
Replacing of the said
Sum, and for the better regulating Ordinaries
and Ordinary-Keepers, and for
other Purposes therein mentioned. Lib. B.L.C.

N.B. This
Act, so far as related to Ordinaries, Ordinary-Keepers, and Ordinary-Licences,
was, by the Act passed in November Session this present Year (viz.
1746, ch. 10,) continued
from and after the payment of the above Sum of 4500 l. into the
Office, till the Sum of 900 l.
granted buy that Act should be fully and compleatly paid into the said
Office, &c. By the Act of
1754, ch. 9, §. 17, it was continued until such Time as the
Purposes of the above recited Acts,
should be fully answered; and also till such Time as the Sum of 6000 l.
granted by that Act,
should be raised and paid to the Commissioners or Trustees for emitting
Bills of Credit, &c. And
by the Act of 1756, ch. 5, §. 96. it was further continued
in full Force, from and after the several
Purposes in the above recited Acts mentioned, are fully answered, &c.
until the 40000 l.
(granted by that Act) should be thereby, (and by the several Ways and
Means in the said Act
of 1756, ch. 5, directed) repaid and replaced in the said Office,
and to the End of the next succeeding
Session; so that it totally expired the 26th November 1763.
