it) by the Charter, granted to the City of Annapolis, dated the 2d November
1708, and confirmed,
&c. by an Act of Assembly 1708, ch. 7.

Preamble. |
WHEREAS it hath been represented to this present General Assembly,
that sundry Court-Houses within this province, for the better
Conveniency of the respective Counties, have been built upon
Lands whereunto the Counties could make no legal Claim or Challenge; the
Owners thereof either refusing to make Sale, or otherwise incapacitated
of so
doing, be Reason of Non-age, or being beyond the Seas; which Evil if not
prevented, will be very prejudicial to such Counties who have already laid
out
and expended considerable Sums of Tobacco in erecting and building such
Court-Houses aforesaid. |
