James O. Lowry, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, respectfully Submits, in conformity with a resolution of your Honorable Body, the following statement of
receipts and expenses of his office during the time he nas held the same, showing the aggregate revenue, the source from whence it was derived, the expenses of the
Office, and tile cause of the same. He is unable in this statement to cover the period embraced in the resolution from the fact the boot containing the desired in-
formation has been either lost or retained by his predecessor in office.

*The increase of fees for this year and the apparent decrease in the year following is attributable to the fact that the Clerk was authorized by the Legislature
to canvass the City and ascertain the number of persons doing business therein who required a License to conduct the same, the following year that duty was
imposed upon the Sheriff. The amount of revenue to the Clerk's Office from that source was about $1,500.
