The Report was opened for amendment, when Mr. Gill
submitted the following amendment:
And said Judge or Judges shall from time to time inves-
tigate the expenses, costs and charges of their respective
Courts, with a view to a change or reduction thereof, and re-
port the result of such investigation to the General Assem-
y for its action ;
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Carter,
The Report was opened for amendment, when Mr. Carter
submitted the following amendment:
Sec. 9. Add alter the word " necessary," in line 2, " and
such officers of the Courts in the City o f Baltimore, shall be
appointed by the Judges of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. John Parran moved that the Report be opened foi
amendment, to enable him to submit the following amend-
ment :
Sec. 19, line 9. Strike out the word " Calvert;" and in
line 7, after the words "Anne Arundel," insert the word
"Calvert;"
Decided in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Wickes,
The further consideration of the Report of the Committee
upon the Judiciary Department was informally postponed.
The Convention then proceeded to the consideration of the
Report of the Committee on the formation of a new County,
to be composed of parts of Somerset and Worcester Counties,
Said Report being upon a third reading ;
