So the substitute as an amendment to Section 31, was
adopted.
Mr. Carter submitted the following amendment:
Sec. 31. Add at the end of Section, "but authority is hereby
given to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to pay to
each of the said Judges an annual addition of five hundred
dollars to their respective salaries, provided that the same
being once granted shall not be diminished nor increased
during the continuance of said Judges in office."
Pending the consideration of which,
Mr. Carter moved the previous question,
The question being,
"Shall the previous question be now put?"
It was sustained.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment,
