So the amendment submitted by Mr. McKaig was rejected.
Mr. Barnes (by unanimous consent,) asked and was grant-
ed leave of absence from the sessions of the Convention until
Tuesday next.
Mr. Syester submitted the following amendment as a sub-
stitute for Section 24.
Sec. 24. The salary of each Chief Judge shall be three
thousand dollars, and of each Associate Judge of the Circuit
Court two thousand five hundred dollars per annum, paya-
ble quarterly, and shall not be diminished or increased
during his continuance in office.
