Dear Sir:—Having accepted the position of Committee
Clerk to this body, in good faith, I have been absent for
some days endeavoring to so arrange my affairs as to be able
to attend strictly and punctually upon the remaining sittings
of the Convention; the Convention having lasted much
longer than was at first anticipated; and my private busi-
ness being of such a nature, that I find it absolutely neces-
sary for me to be at home. I would, under these circum-
stances, most respectfully resign my office of Committee
Clerk to the Convention, Receiving which, you will greatly
oblige,
Tour obedient servant,
N. T. MEGINNISS.
