The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
Mr. Merrick submitted the following order:
Ordered, That a committee of seven be appointed by the
President with instructions to inquire whether it be practi-
cable to divide the State into seven Judicial Circuits; and if
practicable, to prepare a plan of division for the considera-
tion of this Convention, and that said committee shall report
by 2 o'clock to-day.
Pending the consideration of which,
The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,
The Convention proceeded to the consideration of the
Reports ordered to be engrossed for a third reading ;
Pending which,
On motion of Mr. Merrick,
The further consideration thereof was postponed for ten
minutes.
