The revenues of this office arise from, fees alone. The ex-
penses above specified include compensation to assistant
clerks, amounts said as commissions to collector, amounts
paid for printing, for record books, for stationary, for post-
age, &c., &c. The present Clerk has no knowledge of the
receipts and expenses of the office from 1860 to the 25th of
March, 1863, and therefore cannot make that part of the
statement asked for by the Convention.
