Mr. Wethered submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the words "one thousand" and insert fourteen
hundred.
Mr. Mackubin submitted the following amendment:
Strike out "one thousand dollars," and insert "two thous-
and dollars," and shall reside at the seat of government; and
the office of private Secretary shall thenceforth cease.
Pending the consideration of which,
