In Council August 26. 1793

[p. 259] Mary Marshall by her Petition sets forth that she is very infirm and weak, and
is lame in one of her legs, and that she is reduced to poverty, that finding by retailing liquors
She could keep from the poor house She retailed Spiritous liquors, for which she was pre-
sented in the Criminal Court for Baltimore County at the present August term and fined
for the same. The Grand Jury who found the presentment having recommended the
Petitioner as an Object of Charity, and the Chief Judge and two of the Justices of the said
Court having recommended a remission of the said fine. It is ordered that the said fine be
remitted upon payment of all Costs.

Present the Governor

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Col'o. Uriah Forrest Thirty three
pounds fifteen shillings for three months half pay due the 1st instant.

[p. 260] Commission issued to Edward Cox, dated the 28th instant, appointed one of the
Coroners of Talbot County.

Tuesday 3d. September 1793

The Council met.
Present the Governor

Mr Brice

Mr Kilty

Mr Davidson

Mr Pinkney

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Robert Issabell Three pounds, four
shillings and six pence for riding Express per Account passed by the Auditor,

That the said Treasurer pay to Edward Roberts Two pounds, twelve shillings for riding
Express per Account passed by the Auditors.

James Whetcroft formerly a subject of the King of Great Britain, appeared before the
Board and voluntarily made repeated and subscribed a Declaration of his belief in the
Christian Relegion [sic], and also took repeated and subscribed the Oath prescribed by the
"Act for Naturalization," wherefore he is now become a subject of this State.
