Disney, Lloyd Dorsey and Bell Mullikin appointed Justices of the
Peace for Anne Arundel County.
Nicholas Worthington, Allen Quynn, John Brice, Richard Har-
wood, Robert Couden, William Campbell and William Hall 3d. ap-
pointed Justices of the Orphans Court of said County.
In Council December 23d. 1788
George Rothrock of Baltimore town by his petition to the Board
sets forth that being offered a house advantageously situated for inn
keeping, by a Person who had previously used it as a tavern, he
entered the same supposing he might avail himself of the unexpired
licence which had been granted to the person of whom he rented it,
that he was presented to the Criminal Court of said County August
term last, and fined on two several Presentments (as appears by tran-
scripts accompanying the Petition) twelve hundred pounds of To-
bacco and three pounds Current Money and prays a Remission of the
said fines. The Board in Consideration of the Recommendation of
the Judges of the said Court and several respectable Inhabitants of
Baltimore town in his favor do hereby order and direct that of the
fines aforesaid Six hundred pounds of Tobacco and thirty shillings
be and are hereby remitted.

[p 18] Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Peter
Engels, two hundred and forty one pounds, eighteen shillings and
eight pence Current Money, in lieu of an Order dated the 21 of May
1788 in his favor for the like sum balance of An Account passed by
the Auditor General, and also the further Sum of Sixty pounds in
lieu of an Order of the 7th. November last to enable him to repair
Arms at Frederick town on Account, which said Orders are returned.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut. Colo. Uriah Forrest thirty
