Wednesday 18th. October 1786

The Council met.

Present the Honorable James Brice

William Paca Esquires.

Edward Norwood Executor of the Testament and last Will of
Edward Norwood late of Baltimore County deceased, exhibits to this
Board a Judgment obtained by him against James Russell, Walter
Ewer, John Ewer and John Buchanan amounting with Costs of
Suit and Interest to the 10 May 1786 to Two hundred and thirty one
pounds, five shillings and One penny, which is examined and
approved.

[p 174] The Council proceeded to the appointment of a Naval
Officer of the first District in the room of Thomas Andrew Dyson,
who has resigned when John Courts Jones of Charles County was
appointed, and Commission issued accordingly.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Messrs.
Robert Gilmer & Co. Ninety two pounds, five shillings on the order
of Messrs. Willing, Morris and Swanwick of the 19th. August last,
for so much, including Commission of 2 1/2 per Cent, advanced by
them to John Henry Esqr. a Delegate in Congress, and also to the
said Robert Gilmer & Co. the further Sum of One hundred and
Eighty four pounds, ten shillings on the Order of the said Willing,
Morris, and Swanwick of the 21st. September last, for so much, in-
cluding Commission, advanced to William Hindman Esquire, which
Sums are to be charged to the said Delegates respectively.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.
