to the honoble Chancellour, Who out of his wonted Clemency did
give the Peticoner some meanes ffor dressing his wounds and an
order to John Barnes ffor his accomodacon att his house, That the
Peticoner is very unlike ever to bee in condicon of getting his lively-
hood therefore as an Object of pitty prsents himselfe to yor honors
ffor such order as to Your hono" shall seeme meet
Upon reading the aforegoing peticon, and the said Marke Cordea
being prsent in Court. Itt is the Judgment of the Court here this day
to witt ye Eighteenth day of ffebruary in the ffifth yeare of the
Dominion of ye Right honble Charles Ld Baltemore &c Annoq Dom
1679, that the said James Anderton is ffree, And it is ordered that
the said Marke Cordea satisfie and pay unto the said Jno Ander-
ton his ffreedome Corne and Cloths, And also that the said Jno
Anderson apply himselfe to the Comiss" of stt Maryes County Court
ffor a reasonable yearely allowance for his ffuture Livelyhood

To the honoble the Justices of the Provinciall Court
The humble peticon of Elizabeth Cannee
Humbly Sheweth
That your Peticoner was fformerly servant to Mr Marke Cordea,
and was by the said Marke Cordea assigned and comitted into the
custody and undr ye Jurisdiccon of John Lecompt sonn in Law to
the said Marke Cordea, who hath seavll times acted as Attorney of
the said Marke Cordea in Dorchester County and other parts of this
Province, and was neve [r] yet by the said Marke Cordea contra-
dicted) the said John Lecompt hath likewise to yor peticoners Cer-
taine knowledge sett ffree and discharged others of the said Marke
Cordea's sarvants before the time of theire Servitude was expired
ffor ye Consideracon of theire Corne and Cloathes, That your Pe-
ticoner by Indenture was so Serve untill the sixth day of May next,
but that the said John Lecompt upon the Eleaventh day of Decem-
ber last proffered your Peticonr that if she would comitt him her
Corne and Cloathes or what should bee due to her at the expiracon
of her time of Service she should bee then free, wch your Peti-
coner consented to and in consideracon thereof sould the said John
Lecompt her Corne and Cloathes, and the said John gave her a dis-
charge ffrom her service aforesaid under his hand wch she hath
here ready to produce in Court Yet the said Marke Cordea hath by
a Hugh and Cry taken your Peticoner and threatens to make her
serve tenn dayes for Every one day she hath been absent since the
said Discharge Your Peticoner humbly prayes that your Honors will
please to Consider the promisses and View her said Discharge, and
order that shee may bee cleared from the said Cordea's Service if
to your Honours it shall appeare to bee her due
And as in duty bound she shall pray &ca
Upon Reading the aforesaid peticon, and the said Elizabeth Cannee
and Marke Cordea being present in Court this day to witt the ffour-
