To the Honble Justices of the Provinciall Court
The humble peticon of William Vaughan
Humbly sheweth
That Major Thomas Ingram did by his last Will and testament
give & bequeath unto yor peticonr one seat of land lying in Choptank
River, containing three hundred acres, & likewise the sume of fiue
thousand fiue hundred pounds of tobacco And if in case that Tho :
Philips who agreed for the said land with the said Ingram before
His release was willing to hold the said bargaine. That then there
should be paid unto yor peticonr out of the Estate of the said Ingram
the sume of tenn Thousand pounds of tobacco Yor peticonr there-
fore humbly prayes that yor Honors will be pleased to grant yor
peticonr order for the said Legacy out of the Estate of Jeremiah
Eaton who marryed with the Executrix of the said Ingram And yor
peticonr as in duty bound shall ever pray. Which peticon being read
& heard the said Mary Eaton appeares by Kenelm Cheseldyn her
Attorney, and saith that she hath nothing to say in barr but that
judgemt be entred upp against the Estate of the said Jeremiah Eaton
for the aforesaid Sume of tenn Thousand pounds of tobacco There-
fore itt is considered by the Court here this day to witt the ffour-
teenth day of March in the fourth yeare of the Dominion of Charles
Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Doni 1678 that the said William Vaughan
recover against the Estate of the said Jeremiah Eaton the aforesaid
sume of tenn thousand pounds of tobacco

I doe by Vertue of power given unto me by Mres Mary Eaton of
the County of Kent widdow appoint & authorize you Kenelm
Cheseldyn one of the Attorneys of the Provinciall Court to acknowl-
edge a Judgemt unto William Vaughan for the sume of tenn thou-
sand pounds of tobacco due unto him by a Legacy given unto him
by her former Husband Major Thomas Ingram & for so doeing
this shall be yor warrant Given under my Hand & Seale this Elev-
enth day of March 167%
