Provincial Court Proceedings, 1677/8. 261 Propry Liber N N agt Tho: Doxey & Mason These foure causes are continued untill the same next Court ag Jno Coode & Tho: Lomax Richard Loyd agt Wm Singleton Robert Carvile Comand was given to the Sheriffe of St. Maryes agt County that he take Cadwallader Jones if he Cadwallader Jones should be found in his bailywick & him safe to keep so that he have his body here the ninth day of April Annoq3 Doni 1678. to Answer unto Robert Carvile genti in a plea of trespas upon the case Att which said ninth day of April the same Sheriffe maketh returne of the writt aforesaid, that the said Cadwallader Jones is not to be found in his bailywick Where upon the said Robert Carvile prayed an Attachment agt the Estate of the said Cadwallader Jones according to Act of Assembly in that case made & provided & itt is granted unto him. Richard Royston Wm Nicklis was Attached to Answer unto Richard p. 507 agt Royston in a plea of trespas upon the case. Wm Nicklis And the said Wm Nicklis by Robert Ridgely his Attorney cometh & defendeth the force & injury when &c but the said Richard Royston came not but made default, therefore itt is considered by the Court here this day to witt the thirteenth day of April in the third yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annocp Doni 1678. that a Nonsuite be Awarded agt the said Richard Royston, & that the said Wm Nicklis recover agt the said Richard Royston the sume of six hundred sixty two pounds of tobacco for his costs & charges by him about his defence in this behalf e laid out & expended. Wm White Henry Stocket & James Stavely Admrs of agt the Goods Chattels & creditts of Thomas Henry Stocket & James Salmon deceased were Attached to answer Stavely Adrs Salmon unto Wm White of a plea of trespas upon the case. And whereupon the said Wm by Christopher Rousby his Attorney complaineth, that whereas severall persons Inhabitants within the County of Cecil & Baltemore & elsewhere within this Province of Maryland the twenty sixth day of March One thousand six hundred seventy & att severall dayes & tymes afterwards untill the twenty fourth day of March One thousand six hundred seventy three stood |
