not appeareing Ordered that unlesse
the said Mitchell appeare next Court

p. 555 Charles Calvert Esq Memorandum that this Court to wit the fourth
agt day of May in the forty third yeare of the
William Stevens Dominion of Caecilius &c Annoq Doth 1675
Came the Honble Charles Calvert Esq Chei fe
justice of the Same Court by Robert Carvile
his Attorny and exhibiteth here into Court his
certaine bill against William Stevens Gent in
a plea of trespas upon the case.
And whereupon the Said Charles Calvert by Robert Carvile his
Attorny complaineth that whereas the Said William was indebted to
the said Charles in the Summe of eleaven pounds five shillings and
foure pence of currant mony of England and being So indebted
the Said William did in consideration thereof On the twenty Sev
enth day of May in the forty Second yeare of the Dominion of
Caecilius &c Annoq Doth 1674 draw One bill of exchange according
to the Custome of merchants and Signed with the proper hand of
the Said William and directed to One Mr John ifoster of London
for the payment of the said eleven pounds five shillings and foure
pence at tenn dayes Sight to the Said Charles or his Order and the
Said William did then and there assume upon himselfe and to
the Said Charles did faithfully promise that if the said John ifoster
the Said eleaven pounds five shillings and foure pence to him the
Said Charles or his Order should not well and truly pay according
to the tenor of the Said bill of exchange that he the Said William
would well and truly pay the same when thereunto required And
the Said Charles in fact Saith that On the two and twentith day of
July One thousand Six hundred Seventy foure he did Order the
