12 Provincial Court Proceedings, 1671. Liber j j the Sheriff of St Maryes County, for all wch ifees the Sheriff to be responsable if he set him at liberty. The Sheriff of St Maryes County made a Retorne of a prcept Justinian to him Directed for the apprhending of Justinian Gerard for hog lierard stealing, that the said Gerard was not found in his Baliwick. Humphry Humphry Joanes of St Maryes County bound over by Mr Ben Joanes jamin Salley for a Rape upon Mary Smith and for speaking words agt the Lord Proprietary who being called appeares, and was Comitted into the Custody of the Sheriff of St Maryes County. Mary Smith James Kersha and John Warne witnesses against him appeare. P. 489 Mary Stevens servant to Patrick iforrest for murdering her bas tard Childe brought here into Court and committed into the Custody of the Sheriff of St Maryes County. The Cryer makes proclamacon. You good men that are Empannelled, to Enquire for the Right hono :ble the Lord Proprietary and the body of this Province answere to your names.
