brought in to aid and make valid in Law the several Acts of
Assembly passed last Session of Assembly, except An Act, entitled,
An Additional Supplementary Act to the Act entitled, An Act for
the Establishment of Religious Worship in this Province according
to the Church of England, and for the Maintenance of Ministers,
and, An Act entitled, a Supplementary Act to the Act entitled, An
Act for the Building a Parish Church in Christ Church Parish in
Calvert County and that M.r Johnson M.r Chase M.r J Hall M.r
Paca and M.r Sim do prepare and bring in the same.

His Excellency communicates to M.r Speaker the following Mes-
sage.

Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly,

I had the Honour some Time ago of receiving a Letter from his
Excellency the Earl of Dunmore, Governor of Virginia, informing
me, that, at the last Meeting of the Virginia Assembly, an Act was
passed by the Legislature of that Colony, to prevent the Counter-
feiting the Paper Money of the other Colonies, a Copy of which
his Lordship, by Desire of the Virginia Assembly, transmitted to
me, requesting me to recommend it to the Assembly of this Province,
to pass an Act similar to the same; and as I am persuaded the so
doing will greatly contribute to the Security of those Colonies that
are under a Necessity of adopting a Paper Currency, I hope you will
take the same under your immediate Consideration, and in those
Hopes I herewith inclose you a Copy of the above mentioned Act.

Which was read and ordered to lie on the Table.

William Hayward, Esq. from the Upper House delivers to M.r
Speaker a Petition of the Trustees for the Poor of Frederick County,
praying that an Act may pass to empower the Justices of said County
to levy, at next November Court, a Quantity of Tobacco sufficient
to produce the Sum of £72 5.. 7.. 9 1/2, it being the Ballance due from
the said Trustees to several Creditors respecting the Poor House
of said County. A Petition of the Rector and Vestrymen of Christ-
Church Parish in Calvert County, praying an Act may pass, em-
powering the Justices of Calvert County, at their November Court to
be held this present Year, to levy and assess, upon the taxable In-
habitants of Christ-Church Parish in the County aforesaid, the
Quantity of 22,422 lb Tobacco, to finish building a Church in the
said Parish. A Petition of the Trustees of Anne-Arundel County.
A Petition for a School at the Cool Springs. A Petition of Philip
Love, praying a Present may be made him for Services by him done
during the last War. And a Petition of sundry Inhabitants of Fred-
erick County, praying for certain Roads to be made in the said
