M.r Speaker they saw him qualified in the usual Manner. The Gentle-
man takes his Seat in the House
M.r Hammond being sick hath Leave of Absence.
The House was moved that a Resolve of the Lower House of
Assembly of the 22.d Day of November 1763, respecting Parish
Petitions be read; and it was read accordingly
M.r Wootton brings in and delivers to M.r Speaker a Bill entitled
An Act for vesting in such foreign Protestants as are now natural-
ized or shall be hereafter naturalized in this Province all the Rights
and Privileges of natural born Subjects. Which was read the first
Time and ordered to lie on the Table
Ordered, That the Remonstrance of the Magistrates of Charles
County which was referred from last Session to this Day be read;
and it was read accordingly.

On Motion, Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to
aid the Defects in the Records of Charles County: And that M.r
Hall, M.r Smallwood, M.r Harrison, M.r Ware, M.r Hawkins and
M.r Tilghman do prepare and bring in the same
On Motion, Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for
more effectually preventing the buying and selling of Offices and to
prevent Simoniacal Contracts: And that M.r Chase, M.r Alien, M.r
Dennis, M.r Hawkins, M.r Tilghman and M.r Hall do prepare and
bring in the same
On Motion Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for
issuing Writs of Replevin out of the County Courts of this Province:
And that M.r Chase and M.r Tilghman do prepare and bring in
the same
The House adjourns till To-Morrow Morning 9 O'Clock

All Members present as on Yesterday except M.r Hammond.
The Proceedings of Yesterday were read.
M.r Owings being indisposed hath Leave of the House to go
Home.
The Bill for vesting in such foreign Protestants as are now natural-
ized or shall be hereafter naturalized in this Province all the Rights
and Privileges of natural born Subjects was read a second Time and
will pass
M.r W. Thomas hath Leave of Absence for a few Days on his
private Affairs
M.r Thomas Wright, M.r Gresham, M.r Risteau and M.r Moale
have Leave of Absence till Monday next
