Benedict Calvert Esq, from the Upper House, delivered to M.r
Speaker the Paper Bill, entitled, An Act for the building of a Parish
Church in Christ's Church Parish in Calvert County; endorsed: "By
the Upper House of Assembly Dec.r 19.th 1769: The engrossed Bill
whereof this is the Original, read and Assented to.

Signed by Order, U Scott Cl: Up: Ho:"

M.r Speaker communicated to the House the following Letter from p. 52
the Speaker of the House of Burgesses of Virginia

Virginia, May 17.th 1769.

The House of Burgesses met on the 8.th Instant; on the 16.th they
took into their serious Consideration the State of this Colony, and
in the Course of their Deliberations, being alarmed at the Distress
in which all America is likely to be involved, came to several Resolu-
tions; Copies of which they have given me particular Directions to
transmit, without Delay, to the Speakers of the several Houses of
Assembly on this Continent, and to request their Concurrence therein.
