by Law of Inspectors to officiate at the Warehouse at Baltimore
Town,

[Vestry of
St. Paul's,
to choose
Inspectors]

Be it Enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary by
and With the Advice and Consent of his Lordship's Governor and
the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly and the Authority of
the Same That the Vestry Men and Church Wardens of Saint
Paul's Parish in Baltimore County or the Major Part of them be
and are hereby authorized and required to meet at their Parish
Church between the first Day of June and the tenth day of June
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Six
and then and there after taking the Oath prescribed by the Act
entituled an Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco for prevent-
ing Frauds in his Majestys Customs and for the Limitation of
officers Fees passed in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and Sixty three to nominate and recommend to the Gov-
ernor & Commander in Chief of this Province for the Time being
four able and sufficient Planters well skilled in Tobacco for the
Execution of the office of Inspectors at the Warehouse at Baltimore
Town aforesaid

[And to
transmit
Certificates]

And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid that the said
Vestrymen and Church Wardens Shall after the Nomination and
Recommendation aforesaid forth With Transmit Certificates of Such
Nomination and Recommendation to the Sheriff of the said County
Who Shall forthwith transmit the same to the Clerk of the Council
to be by him immediately laid before the Governor or Commander
in Chief, out of Which said four Persons to be so nominated and
recommended for Inspectors the Governor or Commander in Chief
for the Time being Shall and may appoint by Warrant under his
Hand, two Persons to be Inspectors for the Inspection of Tobacco
at the Warehouse at Baltimore Town aforesaid Which Persons
so Appointed by Warrant by the Governor or Commander in
Chief aforesaid Shall after taking such Oaths and giving Such
Bond and Security as are required by the said Mentioned Act to be
taken and given by Inspectors be and are hereby impowered to
exercise and Execute the said Office of Inspectors in the Same
Manner and under the same Penalties and Forfeitures as if they had
been nominated recommended and Appointed according to the said
Act.

[Penalty
for neglect]

And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid That every
Vestrymen and Church Warden Who Shall Neglect or refuse not
being prevented by Sickness or some unavoidable Accident to meet
according to the Directions of this Act to nominate and recom-
mend Inspectors as aforesaid or who being so met Shall omit neglect
or refuse to nominate and recommend Inspectors as aforesaid
Whereby Inspectors Shall not be nominated and recommended in
Pursuance of this Act Shall forfeit and Pay five thousand Pounds
