Speaker the Journal of Accounts and List of Debts which List of
Debts was Indorsed By the Upper House of Assembly 24.th May
1766 and Assented to

By the Upper House of Assembly May 24.th 1766

Gentlemen

We have no Objection to the several Allowances made to the
Militia that Served on the ffrontiers during the late War or to the
Payment of such Persons as Supplied them with Provisions or were
put to Expences by furnishing Necessarys to any of his Majestys
forces that were quartered in this Province and therefore have
Assented to the Book of Accounts wherein these Claims are adjusted
but we cannot Assent to the Journal of Accounts because the usual
Allowance is not therein made to the late and present Clerk of the
Council nor to our Clerk for making three Copys of the Upper
House Journal for the last Session

And the Bill Entituled an Act for Issuing Writs of Replevin out
of the County Courts of this Province and the Bill Entituled an Act
for raising 4.d Sterling p hogshead On all Tobacco and for Support
of an Agent &c severally/ Indorsed By the Upper House of As-
sembly 24.th May 1766 read the Second time and will not Pass
And the Bill Entituled a Supplementary Act to the Act Entituled
an Act for the Speedy Tryal of Criminals &c Indorsed By the
Upper House of Assembly 21:st [24.th] May 1766 read the first
and Second time by especial Order and will pass
