Serjeant without Service thereof made

Galloway to Attend forthwith at the Bar of this House which
Summons was made out Accordingly

Speaker the Petition of William Morgan Prisoner in Calvert County
Goal the Petition of George Bell Prisoner in Baltimore County
Goal the Petitions of Nathan Joyce and Shepherd Grimes Prisoners
in Ann Arundel County Goal Indorsed by the Upper House referred

to the Consideration of the Lower House which Petitions were

B. Calvert Esq:r from the Upper House delivers to M.r Speaker
the Bill Entituled an Act for the relief of certain Languishing Pris-
oners in the several Goals therein mentioned. Indorsed By the
Upper House of Assembly May 20:th 1766. Read the first time and
Ordered to lye on the Table (and thus) By the Upper House of
Assembly May 21:st 1766. Read the Second time and will Pass
with the following Prisoners Names being inserted in their respective
Countys Viz.t Henry Heinzman John Berry and John Davis of
Frederick County Thomas Hicks Newton Richard Freeman and
William Morgan of Calvert County Nathan Joyce and Shepherd
Grimes of Ann Arundel County and George Bell of Prince Georges
County

the Bill Entituled an Act for Licensing Hawkers and Pedlars, In-
dorsed By the Upper House of Assembly 20.th May 1766, Read
the first time and Ordered to lye on the Table (and thus) By the
Upper House of Assembly May 21:st 1766 Read the Second time
and will Pass with the following Amendments Viz:t after the
Words "Sum of" in the 11:th Line of the first page and Second
line of the Second Page insert the Word five instead of the word
"ten" after the Word "Shore" in the 11:th Line of the third Page
insert the following Words Viz.t such Treasurer to have and retain
a Commission of five Pounds p Centum and no more on the Mony's
to be paid him in Virtue of this Act in the 14.th and 15:th Lines
of the third Page leave out the Words "to the use of the County
Schools in this Province," and insert in their Places the following
Words Viz.t as the General Assembly of this Province for the time
being shall direct and Appoint
