Which was read the first Time, and ordered to lye on the Table

The Order of the Day being read, the House took into Con-
sideration the Want of a Specie, or Medium of Commerce in this
Province, and the most effectual Means of procuring a Passage of
the Journal: And, on Motion, the House resolved itself into a
Committee of the whole House, to consider the Want of a Specie,
or Medium of Commerce in this Province, and the most effectual
Means of procuring a Passage of the Journal,
M.r Speaker left the Chair. Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
W. Murdock, Esq Chairman from the Committee of the whole
House, delivers to M.r Speaker the following Report Viz.t

That the Committee of the whole House had proceeded to take
into Consideration the Matter referred to them by the Honourable
House, but not having had Time to compleat the same, prays Leave
of the House, that the said Committee may sit again to proceed
further in the said Affair.

J. Ridout, Esq from the Upper House, delivers to M.r Speaker,
the following Message, Viz.t

By the Upper House of Assembly, Nov. 17, 1766.
Gentlemen

We have returned your Bill, entitled, An Act for raising four
Pence Sterling for every Hogshead of Tobacco out of this Prov-
ince, for the Support of an Agent at London, for the Services of
this Province, with our Negative, for the Reasons of present Dis-
sent, and the Terms upon which we would most chearfully agree
to your Appointment of an Agent

We must take the Liberty to avoid Repetition, to refer you to
our Message of the 16th December, 1765, attending our Dissent to a
Bill with a similar Title, then under our Consideration.

B. Calvert, Esq from the Upper House, delivers to M.r Speaker,
the Bill, entitled, An Act for regulating Inn-holders and Ordinary
Keepers within this Province. Indorsed, "By the Upper House of
Assembly, Nov.r 17, 1766: Read the second Time and will not pass.

Signed by Order, U Scott, Cl. Up. Ho."

M.r Speaker left the Chair. M.r Speaker resumed the Chair.
