428 Charles County Court Proceedings, 1671—1574. Liber E changeably Sett theyre hands & Seales the day & yeare first above written Edmond Lyndsy (locus Signed Sealed & delivered Sigilli) in the prsence of Rich: Edelen Jonathan Marler Received then of Michael Minocke the full & just sume of fifty foure pounds of Tobacco it being in full for the rent of on hundred & fifty acres of Land Called St Edmunds, wth the alienation p mee John Allen Sheriffe In a certaine matter of difference depending betweene Hen: Moore Plantiffe and Peter Renare Deft the Plt not haveing his declaracon ready craved a reference untill the next Court wch was granted; In a certaine Matter of difference depending between Barnard Hamy Plantiffe and Ann Fowke Deft, the Plt not appeareing in two Courts the Comishoners ordred the Suite to fall Efol. 89] Mr John Stone prsents a Servt to the Court to be adjudgd of his age, who is named Willm Davies who is adjuded to Serve Six yeares In a matter of difference depending betweene John Grubb Plantiffe & Fra: Kylborne & Eliza: his wife Defts the Plantf produceth this ensueing Bill (vizt) Know all men by these prsents tht I Eliza: Johnson of Charles County in the Province of Maryland doe owe unto John Grubb the just quantity of one Hundred & twenty pounds of tobacco to be paid at or upon the tenth of October next as wittness my hand and Seale this 14th of March 1670 Eliza: Johnson (locus Witness James Martin Sigilli) Tho: Helgar The plaintiffe allso prferrs his Declaracon as followeth Charles County ss: John Grubb Complayneth agt Fra: Kylborne and Elizabeth his wife formerly called Eliza: Johnson of a plea tht they render unto him the Sume of one hundred and twenty pounds of tobacco wch they owe &c. And whereupon the said John Grubb by his Attorny Sam: Cressy Complaynes agt the Said Fra: and Eliza: his wife for tht whereas the said Eliza: dureing the tyme tht Shee was Sole (vizt) Before the intermarrage of thm the Said Fra: & Eliza: by a certaine Obli- gacon undr her hand & Seale Beareing date the fourteenth day of March 1670 Did. becom bound to pay on the tenth of October next ensueing the sume of one hundred and twenty pounds of tobacco and Caske unto the said John or his assignes as by the said writeing here in Court pduced more playnely it may appeare Yet the Said |
