Liber E the body of Anne Broadhead & accordingly william Love & Job Corner became obliged in the Sume of 10000 lb tobaccoe for the per- formance of the Same The Sheriff being by act of Assembly obliged to returne to this Court a Jury of inquest for the body of Charles County returned his pannell of fifteen men whose names are hereunder written. Robert Robins foreman Thomas Baker James Hay Henry AspinollThomas Gibson Nicholas Grosse Humphry JonesJohn Ferson John wheeler Robert CosletonHenry Hardy James Littlepage Gerard BrowneRobt Ingolsby Alexander Gallant who prsented Henry Henley for killing Jno Fersons horse where- upon the Court adjudgd him to pay 100 lb tobaccoe for a fine to the Lord proprietary Henry Hawkins Constable made prsentment of a maid Servant belonging to Mr Benja Rozer for having a Bastard child. Luke greene Constable maketh prsentment of a woman Servt of John Thompkinsons named Anne Broadhead for having a bastard Child: Likewise of a servant of Mris virlinda Stone named [blank] for a Bastard Child: Mathias obrian Constable appeared but made no prsentment. Geo: Newman Constable appeared but made no prsentment John paine Constable appeared but made no prsentmt William ward Constable appeared but made no prsentmt John Dobbs, James Lee, & Joseph Cooper Constables not appear- ing were fined Each of them One thousand pounds of tobaccoe for their Default. Whereas John Helme of Charles County by way of petition in- formed his Excellency the Capt Generall against Henry Bonner late Clarke of Charles County for mischarging certain Fees in his accot for the which the Said John Helme was taken under Execution by the Sheriff on the behalfe of the Said Henry Bonner which petition & accompt were by his Excellency the Capt General remitted to this Court & the Court having Comitted the regulating of the Same to the grand Jury of inquest for the body of Charles County by which Jury the accot of the Said Henry Bonner was found Erroneous al- though the Jury did not find it prsentable, the Said Henry Bonner did in open Court tender to the Said John Helme to discharge him of the Sheriff of Charles County by whom he was taken in Execution for the abovesaid mischarged Fees & to discharge him clearely from the whole accot which was by the Said John Helme refused The Court is Adjourned till the Second Tuesday in January |
