        Liber D    six hundred pounds of tob in Cask in Port tobacco Creeke on the
              tenth day of 9br next in the yeare 1669 in witness thereof I sett my

                Whereupon It was ordered the Deft should pay the plt 600 lb of
              tob wth Costs & chargs of suite then the plt prsntd this bill of
              chargs

        [p. ‘3'] Edward Maddock Plt came & appeared to Prosecute the sute by
              him Comenced agt Edmund Lynsy
                Edmd Lynsy Deft came also & appeared to defend the suite
              comenced agt him by Edward Maddock
                then the plts Declaracon was reade viz:
                And whereupon the sd Edwd Cornplaineth agt the sd Edmd for tht
              whereas the sd Emd on the tenth day of Aug: in the xxxvii yeare of
              the Dominion of Caecilius 1668 at divers daies & times since had
              & recd from the sd Edwd divers parcells & quantities of medicines
              & Visits & Attendance amting to nine hundred & eighty pounds of
              tot5 by a pticular Acct thereof here in Court exhibited more plainely
              may appear in Consideracon whereof the sd Edmd did then Assume
              upon himself & to the sd Edwd did faithfully promise tht he the sd
              Edmd the sd sume of 980 lb of tob to him the sd Edwd wn thereunto
              required would well & truly satisfy yet never the less the sd Edmd
              his sd pmise & Assumpcon little regarding but minding & fraudu-
              lently intending him the sd Edwd of the sd sume of 980 lb of tob
              to deceive the sd sume of 980 lb to him the sd Ed:wd hath not pd but
              doth altogether refuse to satisfy the same to his the sd Edwds great
              Damage whereupon he saith he is Damnified to the Valew of 1200 lb
              of tob and hereupon he bringeth his suite.
                The Declaracon being reade the plt pduced the ensueing Acct:
