We hope your Excellency will as soon as the present Important
Business is finished give us a Short Recess of a few Weeks that
those inconveniencies may be removed when we shall be very glad
to have an Opportunity of Proceeding to the Dispatch of the In-
teresting Matters your Excellency has been pleased to recommend
to us and to Concur with the other Branches of the Legislature in
every Measure tending to Promote the General Welfare of our
Country which we are much pleased to be Assured by your Ex-
cellency you also Consider as your own
Which was Read and Assented to and Signed by Order of the
House by the Honourable Speaker
Ordered that M:r Edmunson and M:r Wolstenholme do Acquaint
his Excellency that this House hath prepared an Address to be pre-
sented to him and desires to know when and where he will please
to receive it they return and Acquaint M.r Speaker that the Governor
Signified he would be ready to receive the Address immediately in
the Conference Chamber
Ordered that M:r Ringgold with five more do present the Address
The Governor communicated to M.r Speaker the following Mes-
sage Viz:t
Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
That the Members of your House who have undertaken to go to
New York on the Business mentioned in the Ordinance Just now
Presented to me for my Assent and concurrence, may be at Liberty
to set off as soon as they please I shall immediately Sign it in Con-
fidence that those Gentlemens proceedings when upon their return
they shall be communicated to me and the Publick will merit our
approbation and appear to have been well calculated to Obtain from
the Legislature of Great Britain the desired relief

the Bill Entituled an Act to continue all such Acts of Assembly of
this Province as would expire with this Session of Assembly In-
dorsed 28:th Sept:r 1765. By the upper House of Assembly Read
the first time and Ordered to lye on the Table (and thus) Sept:r
28:th 1765 By the upper House of Assembly Read the Second time
by an especial Order and will pass
