of the said Town of Baltimore labour under dayly inconveniences
for want of the regulations hereby made Be it also enacted that the
Commissioners of the said Town or the Major part of them may
And are hereby impowered and required on the first day of January
next to nominate and appoint one of the Inhabitants of the said
Town being a Freeholder within the said Town to be Clerk of the
said Market for the year ensuing and untill the last day of November
Court then next following which Clerk so nominated and appointed
shall have all the Power and Authority hereby given or intended
to be given to any Clerk to be appointed by the Justices of the
County Court aforesaid.

death, &c, to
nominate

And be it further Enacted That in case of the Death removal
or other disqualification of any Clerk of the said Market to be
nominated or appointed by the Justices of the Said County Court or
the Commissioners of the Town aforesaid immediately thereupon
or as soon as may be the Commissioners of the said Town or the
Major part of them shall nominate and Appoint some other Person
duly Qualified as aforesaid to be Clerk until the last day of the
November Court then next ensuing who shall have full Power and
Authority as Clerk of the Market in every case aforementioned

And be it further Enacted That every Person so Nominated and
appointed either by the Justices aforesaid or by the Commisisoners
of the said Town as Clerk of the said Markett shall before he
takes on himself the Execution of the said Office enter into Bond
with two Sufficient Securities in the Sum of two hundred Pounds
Current Money to the Commissioners of the said Town of Balti-
more for the time being with Condition thereto that he will well and
Faithfully discharge his duty agreeable to the Act of Assembly
entituled an Act to confirm a Lease made by Thomas Harrison of
Baltimore County for part of a Lot of Land therein mentioned
lying in Baltimore Town in said County to the Commissioners of
the said Town and their Successors, and to establish a Market in the
said Town and for the Regulation of the said Market "and a just
and True account render of all Such Monies as he shall receive by
Virtue of his Office and that he will pay and apply such Monies so
received as the Commissioners aforesaid for the time being or the
Major part of them order and direct.

to lead, ride,
or drive
Horses, or
kill in the
Market

And be it further Enacted by the Authority advice and consent
aforesaid that it shall not be Lawfull for any Person whatever wil-
fully to lead Ride or drive into the aforesaid Market House any
Horse Gelding Mare or Colt or to kill or Slaughter in the said
House any Beast of the Beef Sheep or Hog kind under the Penalty
of two Shillings and Sixpence Current Money of this Province for
every such offence to be received paid and applyed in manner and
Form as in this Act before directed Saving to his most Sacred
Majesty his Heirs and Successors, the Right Honourable the Lord
