M.r James Smith

A sufficient Number of Delegates to compose the Lower House
of Assembly being convened at the Stadt House
Ordered That M.r John Goldsborough and Col.o Lloyd do acquaint
his Excellency the Governor therewith
Benedict Calvert and Daniel Dulany Esq.rs from the Upper House
acquaint Mr Speaker that the Governor requires the Attendance of
the Lower House immediately in the Upper House.
Mr Speaker left the Chair and attended with the Members of
the Lower House went to the Upper House where his Excellency
signified to Mr Speaker and the Lower House of Assembly That

as it appeared from their Address delivered him near the Close
of the last Session that it would be agreeable to them after a short
Recess to proceed on public Business he had now met them for
that purpose
Mr Speaker with the rest of the Members returned to the Lower
House and reassumed the Chair
Major William Hynson a Delegate returned for Kent County
Walter Dulany Esq.r a Delegate returned for the City of Annapolis
and Capt.n Francis Ware a Delegate returned for Charles County
severally appeared in the House
Ordered That M.r Hanson and Col.o Lloyd do go with those
Gentlemen to the Upper House to see them Qualified they return
and acquaint Mr Speaker they saw those Gentlemen Qualified in
the usual Manner by taking the several Oaths to the Government
required by Law by subscribing the Oath of Abjuration repeating
and signing the Test
The Gentlemen took their Seats in the House
The House adjourns 'till the Morrow Morning at 9 of the Clock

Saturday 2.d Nov.r 1765

The House met &c All the Members appeared as Yesterday Except
Mr Murdock
Ordered That the following Rules be Observed as such during
this Session Vizt
1.st That no Member of the House shall use any reviling Speech

or Name any Member by his proper Name otherwise than for

Distinction Sake but shall rather use some Other Signification As
the Gentleman that spoke last or the like
