Majesty is graciously pleased to Empower me to give for Effecting
this most Essential Service and in the mean time, I think it my
Duty to Acquaint you of this Intended Measure that you may be
prepared for Exerting your utmost Influence with your Assembly
to grant the Number of Men that I shall be Obliged to require of
your Province, that his Majestys Command may be duely Obeyed

Messrs Tilghman & Goldsborough from the Lower House acquaint
His Excellency that their House hath made choice of Mr John Allen
Thomas for their Clerk and hope for his Excellencys Approbation
to whome his Excellency is pleased to declare that he approves their
Choice
Mess.rs Stewart & Gant from the Lower House attend with Mr
John Allen Thomas Clerk of the said House in order to see him
quallified who takes the Oaths to the Government appointed to be
taken by Act of Assembly and Subscribes the Abjuration & Test &
also takes the Usual Oath of Office & then withdraws
Adjourned till 3 of the Clock in the Afternoon

Mess.rs Goldsborough & Smallwood attend with Messrs Edmonson
