The Lower House. 89


Mr. Robert Lloyd, from the Grand Committee, made the follow-
ing Report, viz. The Grand Committee of the whole House having
taken into Consideration the Matter referred to them by the House,
have come to the following Resolution, viz. That the Sum of Money
to be raised to answer the Purposes of the Resolves of the House,
be raised by an equal Assessment on all Estates, Real and Personal,
within this Province, and Lucrative Offices and Employments; which
was Read, and the Question was put, That this House do concur
therewith. Resolved in the Affirmative.

On Motion, Leave was given, to bring in a Bill for granting a
Supply of Forty five Thousand Pounds for his Majesty's Service, and
for defraying the Expences heretofore incurred for the Defense
and Security of the Frontier Inhabitants of this Province, and for
other Purposes therein mentioned, and for Raising the same by an
equal Assessment on all Estates, Real and Personal, within this
Province, and Lucrative Offices and Employments;

Ordered, That Mr. Edward Tilghman, Mr. James Tilghman, Mr.
Hammond, Mr. Ringgold, Mr. Murdock, Mr. Robert Lloyd, and
Mr. Hanson, do prepare and bring in the same.

The House adjourns till the Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.
