L. Provided also, That no Person or Persons shall be assessed
for, or obliged to give in any Tobacco, Corn, Wheat, Oats, Rye or
Barley, or other Growth or Produce of his, her or their Lands, of
the then present Year, or any Money arising from the Sale thereof,
any Thing herein before contained to the contrary notwithstanding.
LL Provided also, That no Owner or Owners, Proprietor or Pro-
prietors, Manager or Managers of any Furnace, Forge, or other
Iron-Work, shall be assessed for, or obliged to give Account of any

Pig or Bar-Iron, being the Produce of such Furnace, Forge, or
other Iron- Work, for Twelve Months next preceding the making
such List or Account, or any Money arising from the Sale thereof,
any Thing herein before contained to the contrary notwithstanding.
LII. And be it further Enacted, by the Authority, Advice, and
Consent aforesaid, That after the said Assessors have so taken Lists
of, and from, and assessed thereby, the several Inhabitants, or Resi-
dents of their respective Districts, they shall, and are hereby required
within the Time for bringing in their Assessments, to return to the
Commissioners aforesaid, a fair Certificate of their Assessment, con-
taining the Names and Surnames of the several Inhabitants and
Residents aforesaid of their respective Districts, and the Sums upon
them assessed for their real Estates, herein after directed to be valued
and rated, and personal Estates herein before enumerated, Stock
in Trade, Benefices and lucrative Offices and Employments, Annui-
ties, Pensions, Stipends, or other yearly Payments, Practices of Law,
or Physick, Wages as hired Clerks, or Wages or Commissions as
Factors, Agents or Managers, therein distinguishing how much each
Person shall be assessed for the several Articles last before enumer-
ated respectively; and also the said original Lists so as aforesaid,
of the said Inhabitants and Residents received, and the said Com-
missioners shall, and they are hereby required to make fair Dupli-
cates of the Certificates aforesaid, and the same shall deliver, or
cause to be delivered to the Collector of the County for the Time
being, on or before the Tenth Day of January yearly and every Year,
during the Continuance of this Act.
LIII. Provided always, That every Batchelor, or Widower, of the
Age of Twenty, and not exceeding Fifty Years, not having any
Child or Children, and whose real and personal Estate shall not be
valued to the Sum of One Hundred Pounds, shall be assessed the
sum of Five Shillings yearly, during the Continuance of this Act,
in lieu of all the Assessments to be made on his said real and
personal Estate in virtue of this Act.
LIV. Provided also, and it is hereby Enacted, That the said
Assessors shall not assess any Person whatsoever, having three or
more Children, and whose whole Estate, real and personal, is not
valued to Fifty Pounds Current Money, or who shall at the Time,
receive a charitable Bounty or Allowance in the Publick or County
