A Supplementary Act to the Act Entituled An Act for Emitting
and making Current Ninety Thousand Pounds Current Money
of Maryland in Bills of Credit
Whereas by the said Act of Assembly entituled an Act for emitting
and making Current Ninety Thousand Pounds Current Money of
Maryland in Bills of Credit it was Provided for the better Support-
ing the Credit of the said Bills that there should be a duty of one
shilling and three Pence sterling paid to the said Several Naval
Officers for every Hogshead of Tobacco or upon every four hundred
Pounds of Tobacco be it in Chest or Case which should be exported
out of this Province by the several Masters of Ships or other
Vessels exporting the same for and during the Space of Thirty one
Years in Bills of Exchange and that such Bills of Exchange should
be remitted to Trustees in London and laid out in the Purchase of
Bank stock for the use and in Trust for this Province And Whereas
it is also directed by the same Act that at the end of the last Sixteen
Years of its Continuance the said Trustees should make Sale of
the said Bank Stock to discharge the Bills of Exchange to be then
drawn on them by the Commissioners for emitting the Bills of
Credit mentioned in the said Act And Whereas it now Appears to
this General Assembly more to the Advantage of the Country that
the said duties which shall be Collected after the first day of Decem-
ber next should not be remitted to the said Trustees but be retained
here for Payment (so far as they will go) of the Proprietors of the
said Bills of Credit when the same are brought in to be Sunk

Be it therefore enacted by the Right Honourable the Lord Pro-
prietary by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lordships
Governor and the Upper and Lower Houses of Assembly and the
Authority of the same That the several Naval Officers shall before
the sixth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and Sixty four pay into the Hands of the Commis-
sioners or Trustees for emitting Bills of Credit in this Province
Good Bills of Exchange upon London Payable at thirty days sight
