quences, be accepted, or that, perhaps, some other Method conducive
to the Case and Satisfaction of the People and not repugnant to the
Statute might occur, which we assure you would be adopted by Us
with the greatest Alacrity. The same Design appearing to be re-
ciprocally entertained by both Houses, we cannot but indulge the
most sanguine Expectation that, a nearer Intercourse and more
explicit Communication of Sentiments may easily Effectuate it, and
the Law, so Usefull and necessary, be obtained upon the most favour-
able Terms for the Convenience of the Province, consistent with the
Obedience we owe to the Crown and the Deference due to the
Authority of the British Parliament wherefore, and as Difficulties
may be Started which can't with Precision, or Propriety be obviated
in a Course of Messages and the General Plan of the Bill now seems
to be settled between us except one which relates to a single Article,
